The Big Picture; Lunar New Year

The Boston's pictures displayed many amazing photos; it was hard enough for me to choose one. The picture I chose was Lunar New Year themed. I chose it because the color instantly popped out to me. It's full of the same traditional shades of red and yellow, and the man's less intense clothes stand against the background, and emphasizes his expression. An unnamed Chinese man is pictured, exiting a shop.
At first glance you might miss all the extra details on the decorations; you can spot many different Chinese symbols, price stickers, and patterns. It actually kind of freaks me out how many baby faces you notice when you start to look closely (I counted nine). To me, the picture is telling a story of an ordinary day; it's obviously a candid shot from the look on the man's face. It's weird, or maybe even a bit comforting, to know that there are people all around the world that have normal day-to-day lives and experiences. I'm glad the photographer caught a person in the photo. It's a trivial thing, but I've been wondering if the man happened to buy anything in the shop, and if he continued on in other places.
